Zeiss Announces the Full Frame ZX1 Camera with Built-in Adobe Lightroom CC

ZeissZX1 Frontx400Zeiss used the occasion of Photokina, an exposition covering all things photographic that is held every two years in Cologne, Germany to announce a new full frame camera. The ZX1 is a stills and motion camera that shoots 4K video at 30fps and 1080P up to 60fps. It has 512GB of built-in storage which is said to provide enough storage for 6800 RAW DNG images or more than 50,000 JPGs, (which are compressed.) It also has access to external storage via USBc which also acts as an HDMI connection.

ZeissBackX400The Zeiss ZX1 features a 37.4-megapixel full-frame sensor created by the company, as well as a fixed Zeiss Distagon 35mm f/2  lens with auto focus. It has an internal lithium-ion battery, WiFi, Bluetooth, and comes with Adobe Lightroom installed. On-board viewing and touchscreen control are via the 4.3-inch display which is also where photo editing can take place before the image even leaves the camera. Price has yet to be determined, but it should be available to purchase in early 2019.
